    Surveillence and security systems have to cover wide areas to keeop an eye out for intruders.  Some systems have wide range capabilities while others will specifically hone in on a target area.  Ideally, a surveillience system will be configured to monitor all areas in need of protection.  However, with some systems there are certian "dead" areas that a savvy intruder can exploit to bypass detection.  These "dead" areas or areas not covered by the surveillence system are known in security terms as creep zones.
